The suspension of Mick O'Reilly and Eugene McGlone, on 26th June generated a large amount of media coverage. They were put on trial for 10 months, during which time they were under a gagging order. After 6 Months of this process new charges were introduced contrary to the rules of the Union. There was a constant whispering campaign in both the media and the unions, while the two men were forced to remain silent and tried to follow the process laid out. This site contains the full unedited documents from the O'Reilly / McGlone trial, including the original charges, the transcript of the trial and the statements from each man. This material is being made available to show the process up for what it was and to show how the real issues - Partnership, TU militancy and opposition to the hierarchy of congress and the labour movement - were disguised with a set of ridiculous allegations.
